will that be his nickname at the end of the season? i sincerely hope not!!
2 points dropped today in the promotion race
1) Pugh is not a left back he is a quality midfielder 2) Cresswell needs a rest - give gally a go 3) sidibe just cant hack it - buy nugent
Time to give up on your 'favourites' mr Pulis. it got steve mcClaren the sack when he had his favourites in the england job.
anyway ... come on you rip roaring potters! we are all with you

So far as your points on Cresswell Pugh and Mama are concerned I tend to agree. I'd add that Griff is a good left back but a poor right back.
So far as TP being a 'nearly man' well time will tell but the last thirty years we've had a succession of 'no where near men' so hes a step up come what may!
Feck me I've just agreed with BBM!

more COMPLETE IDIOCY - we are where we are BECAUSE of Pulis !
ITS A VERY TIGHT LEAGUE - MARGINS ARE SMALL we arent getting the run of the ball presently but it'll change soon
AND you dont suddenly become a bad team overnight
we have a quality squad now - we didnt when Pulis arrived - if the doubters can possibly remember that far back
are some of you 'on glue' ?

Post by maryhinge on Mar 9, 2008 12:40:39 GMT
so you dont agree that the keys players need to stay in the team (fuller shawcross etc) and the ones who look knackered like cresswell, cort, sidibe etc need a rest and gally needs to come in?????
favourtism never wins
Pulis psychology in the media has been weird too, didnt he say something along the lines of ..... "we can afford to lose a few games"????
and yesterday his post match interview said he was happy with a point?

Mongleton,
Pulis actually said after the game that we need to win all our home games, but was proud of how the players battled until the end to get a point

I love it when teletext fans think they could do a better job than Tony. He has done a fantastic job for you and if you come 3rd that is way over your realistic expectations. NO pleasing some people.
Although I hope you finish 7th obviously, can't see it happening though

I love it when the Pulis mafia just come jumping out - "no you can't criticise TP in any shape or form - he's perfect"! The opening post had some valid points - that most of us are thinking. Tone's done a great job this season - but he isn't perfect.

ukc I think most, or certainly lots of Stoke fans would agree with MaryHinges opening constructive critisism however his past nonstop abuse of everything TP did (when he posted as BBM) has tainted most of our feelings about what he says!

we are where we are BECAUSE of Pulis !??
Despite Pulis I would say.
I can honestly say that I do not think he has what it takes to get us promoted. I do hope that I'm wrong, but It is my view that we will be lucky to finish 6th.

It's not exclusively because of Pulis, but it's ridiculous to say we're there "in spite of him". Utter bollocks. He's the manager and therefore deserves credit when we do well in equal measure to criticism when we don't.

couldnt agree more. been ranting about Cresswell for cpl of months now he is useless. Sidibe, having a very poor season, cant for the life of me see why he is continually played, use him as a midfielder sub late in the game. Fuller needs a kick up the backside , but if he had another decent strike partner i dont think hed being having the problems hes having.

Cresswell isn't useless. He's not a natural left winger and so doesn't always offer what a natural left winger would, but he's played his part well and chipped in with some valuable games. How can you say anyone's useless or not when you don't see the games?

im sick and tired of hearing that Cresswell isnt playing in his proper position.... who cares, he is useless in that positon, so get him out and put someone in that is in their proper position. I listen to every game, have watched 1 game on TV and seen 1 in person (Ipswich) all i hear commentary is "Cressweel gets the ball and tries to move up field but is disposessed". against Newcastle on Tv, i saw it happen then agaisnt Ipswich i watched first hand as he lost the ball every single time he got it. so open your eyes and see what he is not doing

With all respect, listening to every game doesn't tell the same story as watching every game.
To say he's useless isn't true when he has double goals tally for the seaosn from the left wing and has been integral to a side that's been a fixture in the top 6 all season.
His introduction against Scunthorpe was the turning point that allowed us to come back and win the game.

"Cresswell needs a rest - give gally a go"
So what is this razor sharp observation based on
Maybe non stop running chasing and working for 95 mins or the two storming runs that Cressie made into the Burnley box in the last 5 minutes which led to the equaliser and a possible winner?
What he needs is to play up front
