Sidibe long term injured - footballers brought in, we start playing well AND pick up good results.
Sidibe is fit, he plays. No footballers required. Hoof merchants order of the day. Millions of Sky viewers reach for the prozac.
Lazy assed management from Pulis.
Simplistic, but not far from the real picture if you ask me.

Fuck the Sky Viewers in the ear for starters.
I see your point to a degree - the haste with which we rushed him back is depressing , but not as depressing as the refusal to give Fuller and Tuncay a run together.
However I think Pulis knows we need better than Mama.

Sidibé is wank, but Pulis will not see beyond him. Sidibé will be here until he retires. It's such a shame that he won't play Lawrence & Etherington with Fuller & Tuncay. We really would look good going forward with those 4 in the team, but Pulis has his favourites.

Back to football matters... Mama is not good enough at this level full stop. Target men have to score as well at this level. As we are playing away tonight I want everyone to watch Mama all night .... does he ever play welll away from home ? His height seems to become an unaffective weapon and we are left with an average Champ footballer. He should only play home games where he has more of a presence. Nice bloke though.

Why? because we have no centre midfield to pass them the ball. He has neglected that area of the pitch for 7 years. He only knows one way of ..ahem 'coaching'.

Lawrence has been disappointing this season when he has started compared to what he was doing for us last season. I would rather see Fuller and Tuncay as our strikeforce instead of Sidebe though.

Ah, I obviously missed the samba football that we were playing before Mama returned. Tactics are tactics, and Tone only knows how to play one way - regardless of whether Mama is fit or not.

Rightly or wrongly, the manager feels a target man is integral to our tactics and system. The fact that he has spent almost ten million quid trying to find a Mama upgrade suggests that he'd rather have a better target mana than Mama in that role. Don't you think?

It isn't that simple at all for a few reasons:
1) Sidibe came into the team when Kitson went out of the team and our performances were much better. He was involved in some big results, such as Tottenham at home and West Brom at home.
2) When Sidibe initially got injured, we were really, really in trouble. We had Cresswell and Pericard up front away at Blackburn, Cresswell started plenty of games up front as well.
3) We didn't change our play because we lost Sidibe, the games prior to January showed this. We didn't change our style of play too radically, we still played it long to Beattie, but we had an extra get out ball that allowed us to continue with the Plan A of getting it into the opposition half whenever possible and keeping it there. Previously, we'd got a choice of Tonge, Soares, Cresswell and Delap for the left.
