when nicky mohan left to join hull that was a sad day ;D! For me the worst one has to be Steino, followed by Sheron and Thorne. I almost cried the day Stein left

For me there is only one..... yes Steino was a god..... but I think I really did shed a tear when Bertie left for Barnsley. My "The suntanned one" cartooon T Shirt was used as a feather duster after the transfer. Remember seeing him not long after at Manchester airport. Did not know whether to go over and punch him or hug him.........
Only now do I understand the part that money pays in transfers. No matter how much a player feels for a club, personal wealth and security HAS and always WILL be the be all and end all.

That's twice I've agreed with you now march, if it carries on like this we're going to have to get a room! The two biggest departures were the semi-final exits from the cup. It still annoys me now.

Thorne was a tough one to take but when Sheron left to QPR "a bigger Club!!!!" that really hurt because it just continued that horrible under acheiving/incompetence which saw us lose so many other Players before him. The other that nearly happened was when Gerry was about to go back to Leicester after his first Loan spell after he had had such an immense impact on our Team.

My first has to be Greenhoff, my very first Stoke idol. Second I`ll go for Steino. Both were quality strikers and the sale of them signalled the end of an era

Jimmy Greenhoff & Alan Hudson (the 1st time) for me. My choice too. Waddington at the time said that if he had known they were going to sell Hudson he wouldnt have sold Greenhoff. Greenhoff must be the only player in the history of the game to be upset at leaving Stoke for ManU.
