sympathy off fellow posters!? I'm 41 with 3 kids, sympathy is the last thing I need. You know absolutely nowt about me, nothing. I have made many friends (and enemies - but at least they had the grace to listen and reason) on here and they will continue to be mates. But times change. This was a place of friendship once, but it's not any more. There are some fantastic posters on here - Old Stokie, Paul Spencer, DaveJohno and Jamoonthewing being just 4 - but when a superbly unique and talented writer like Trouserdog gets slated (as he has in recent times) then it's time to up keyboard. Reasoned debate and a messageboard with some tolerance and structured, reasoned debate/argument was the norm. But from you Hustler that's a pipe-dream from my experiences, as in recent times all you can ever chip in with is antagonistic and semi-abusive stuff towards whatever I write. I can live with that qauite easily as I used to get any number of insults to my face about my fanzine. But I'm fed up of re-reading the same stuff every single day. As I said before it's just penis-measuring, "I know better than you" playground stuff, and to be honest, it saps my energy and negates any enjoyment I had from this board. A different opinion on here a while back brought wit, humour and opinion. Now, it just brings forward the clowns and cyber-bullies who think shouting the loudest wins the argument. Some should go on other team's messageboards with their narrow and shallow outlook on football and life, and see if they're welcomed. Hustler, we have different views, but it's become clear that your answer to those different views is abuse. Low level, I'll grant you, but I've also noticed how you answer posts on stuff you don't agree with, with repostes such as ending posts with stuff like, "I won't be losing any sleep etc". Petty stuff tbh. I have never, not once, replied to genuine posts with abuse. If I have it's because of being abused or slated. I love folk having different opinions on anything to what I have, but I've grown sick of some of your comments and little digs, chief. I'm sure you would usually reply with summat like "Bunny's chucked his toys...etc", but to be honest (and those who KNOW me will bear this out) I've never given a toss about what others think of me or what I do. Some on here need to have a word with themselves and get this board back to somewhere near where it once was. what a load of shite  |

I have quite a few of them mate and even bought them off you outside the club shop but surely you can ignore some of the muppets on here although i have to say its very hard at times and the mrs cant understand how i can get so frustrated with folk on a message board-they just dont get it ;D

it's not the personal stuff that gets me. Christ, I've developed a thick enough skin.
It's the lack of any acknowldging of various opinions, wit, humour, etc. To be honest, I do think football culture is almost dead, as is youth culture.The internet has diluted any real football culture that was left. Faceless individuals with little substantial to say. It's not about being right or wrong, but IS about having an informed and reasoned opinion. That's all but vanished on here.
We are now consumers, not supporters or fans. Pay top dollar to sit in identikit stadia, buying £3 plastic bottles of urine, with the nearest pub or town centre in a different postcode.

I don't mind the bloke hating me, it's water off a duck's....etc...
But he's never really given any reasoning about why, apart from obviously disagreeing with my views on football, life, Stoke etc...and that's fine. Plenty do. But he never counters with anything resembling reason or debate. I couldn't tell you one thing about whether he likes Sidibe, is a PHW or Rimmer, thinks Fuller is lazy etc as he says nothing.
Indeed, it's usually one word or one sentence mumblings, a bit like my 6 year old counters with when I'm telling him off. "I hate you Bunny, hate you...etc".

I do more viewing on here than posting and since we have been in the premier i have never been so pissed off with some of the younger so called supporters.I no being in the premier attracts more fans but FFS grow up.In my view you really have no reason to moan unless you have witnessed some of the shit us older one's have had to endure.Be great full we are here and shut fucking up

It doesn't make us older fans better it just makes us appreciate it more. fair enough quote there mate but i do appreciate us been in the prem and competing with all these world stars and to think that we are being linked with people like nistlerooy and parker is quite remarkable considering where we were a few years back. alot of people on here do knee jerk alot after a defeat or a draw at home and i can imagine alot of those people being the younger ones. |
