Wigan will have had the better deal if that sum is true.

Been common knowledge since Monday/Tuesday we seem to have had a bid accepted but not agreed terms yet. Surprised you haven't had the many PMs going around. As Dave has confirmed isn't done a dusted but could well be soon.

Wigan will have had the better deal if that sum is true. Yes they're losing a player with a good goalscoring record that Martinez himself said wanted desperately to keep.

There may be some truth to this. I have a real estate agent mate who has been asked to find a home for a new signing from Wigan. Who knows?

I think he is the best player we could attract in this window. If we signed him it would be like signing a younger, quicker, hungrier Fuller in my opinion.
Bring it on...

£10m seems to be the stock price for a striker capable of scoring 15 a season...Rogadol would fit this criteria (and seems to be improving all the time) The Drogbas, Adebayors, Rooneys etc who can possibly score 25 or more a season sees the price rise to astronomical levels. In short £10m is the going rate and we need to pay this if we want a prolific goalscorer...even better since hes young and will improve further...hopefully to the 25 goal a year category?? A cracking signing if it comes off.

Rodallega has scored 7 goals in roughly half a season - at the highest level of English football.
10M seems to be the going rate for strikers of that ability level. Add onto that, he seems to be improving all the time. We could wait and watch him improve no end and be out of our reach, or we could pay the cash and watch him flop. We could also sign him and watch him improve here.
Its the risk attached to any transfer. This is the kind of risk i'd like to see us take though, to be honest. We could end up with another Palacios or similar, whereby in a few years time he could be a 20M striker AND a striker that has played his part in us being an established Premier League team.
I think we're all looking at it wrong though, to be honest. We seem to be looking at it specifically as a target by target basis, when I reckon we should look at the bigger picture before and after the window.
Before the window, we have a strike force of Tuncay, Fuller, Mama, Beattie and Kitson. After the window shuts, we could have Tuncay, Fuller(?), Rodallega, Zaki, Sidibe.
Even allowing for Zaki's mental issues, i'd rip your hands off for that right now.

So with Rodallega signing we would have a trio of himself, Tunny and Ric who all have identical styles of play, how would TP work that one? I think with Ric and Tunny vying for that spot TP need not worry about that position and should and probably will focus on other positions.
Also £10M is a ridiculous amount of money.

It's been pretty clear up to now that's how Pulis sees them though Because TP sees them as being best suited as partners for a big target man doesn't mean that they have identical styles of play does it? I find them very different in their style. For a start Tuncay is a grafter and will drop very deep if needs be - Ric tends to like to be on the shoulder of the defender.

This bloke can also play on the wing , and with Liam being out of sorts it kind of makes sense. Good player who scores goals and has some pace. 10 Million these days isn't really a hell of a lot in the scheme of things. Blunderland payed 5 million for Michael Chopra off Cardiff nearly 3 years ago when Cardiff had only payed 500k for him initially.

We're better paying good money for a good player than 1m to 4m to get the likes of Soares and Collins. I think that's what dave was sayingin some of his posts.

Mental inner eet? It seems only 10 minutes ago that we paid 1.5mill for Ryan and thought that was pretty big time (which of course by the standards of the last 140 years it was!!)

£10M does seem steep but when you think Liverpool turned down £9M for babbel,it does not sound too expensive. Remember Stoke would be signing a young player that with improvement could be sold on at a profit.

He's one of their best players and looks to be improving with every game - £10m seems to be about the going rate for a player of his quality.
He's an exciting player - does signing him mean that Fuller is off? Even if he comes we still need a Mama upgrade.
