mumf, we need strikers NOW, Beckford is most certainly at 'kiddie' stage in TP's ambitions and we don't have the luxury of hanging around for 2 years to wait for him to 'be good enough'....assuming as he's unproven he ever will be.
Do you honestly believe the best defenders of the premier league would remotely be concerned about him right now? ???

Clearly taking his chance for a big move in the wake of the ManU goal he scored, but way too inexperienced at Prem level for us to take a chance on.

Clearly taking his chance for a big move in the wake of the ManU goal he scored. .... and consistently scoring goals for 2 seasons, who wouldn't?

I guess such a high profile goal has got his agent playing with todger at the thought of his fee for a big money move to a championship club or the outside chance of a Prem club coming in for him.

To be fair to him he's been there 4 years and a move was on the cards this season anyway with him being out of contract in the summer

Peter Thorne was also profilic in League 1 (the equivilent) and he found his level at the top of the Championship; he was also MUCH better than Beckford is.

"Striker Jermaine Beckford handed in a transfer request to Leeds just days before the club's shock FA Cup third round victory over Manchester United."
The BBC is gettin good, apparently they can predict the future.

I dont really understand everyones reluctance to give him a shot. He can only prove himself at his current level which he has done, No one really knows what hes capable of at a higher level but theres one thing for certain he knows where the net is. Obviously dependant on price i think hes worth a shot, Hes a hard working player who can make something out of nothing ........I think hes worth a gamble, Lets face it weve gambled money on the Soares and Davises so why not him.

If you think taking a chance on Beckford is the way forward, then you are an idiot ! If you don't know why you're an idiot, then you're a double idiot ;D End of, no comebacks ;D

if we could get him for £1.5 million i would think it might be worth the risk,he might not be good but without given the chance nobody will ever know, certainly could be no worse than Sidibe
