Hold on a min. I thought most Stokies hated the prem for what it stood and the greed and now we have a great chance of going up. Typical Labour voters.....

Probably. When I returned to S-o-T a few years ago and started to go to the games more often, I would well up when the lads came on the pitch so god knows how I'll handle it if we get promoted.

How good would it be if Vale put a run together now, and the minute we score to send us up, is the exact same minute that Vale AND Crewe concede to go down?
Like, the 90th? ;D

It would be emotional for young fogies like me. Saw Stoke in the First division as a kid, first match ending Leeds unbeaten record. So much disappointment, but Stoke City has been the only thing that has remained a massive part of my life since I was about 7!
Never went with my grandad, who died when I was young, but been with my dad, and my own children. I'd also think about all the different mates I've been with down the years at different times of my life.
Deep statement. It's quite rare in life for one single act to bring deep joy to a whole community, most of whom are local or have local roots, but promotion would do that.
Don't think I'd cry, but would be happy, excited about next season, then thoughtful about my life with Stoke City.

Thing is every year I take great pleasure in watching fans of relegated clubs blarting on telly. This year I coulod get my come uppance. I have a miserable vision of us losing the play off final and I start to blart. The camera will find me and do a close up of me because its always better television when its a big fat fucker blarting. Then the Sentnull or someone will follow it up and track me down like they do sometimes (they did it with that Leeds blarting kid) and when they realise I live in Australia it becomes a bigger story. Fat Stokie bastard travels from Australia for the play off final and they lost. For years to come fellow nogger fans will remember me as the fat Stokie who blarted on telly.
Having said that it'd be a small price to pay for the pleasure I've had watching fans blarting on telly down the years!! ;D
