Anyone with half a brain would realise the effect of taking Tuncay off, so he needed to consider that. Or maybe it was deliberate. Pulis' thinking is clearly clouded by his love for defending. Which didn't even work anyway and very often doesn't.

If bringing big Mama on last week before Tuncay wasn't insulting enough.
Big Mama there is another one of Pulis's short comings

TP is a very stubborn manager who will never change..end of . Four centre halves on the pitch sums it all up really , quality like Tuncay and Lawrence on the bench , get used to it lads ! People can knock me and say "look where we are in the league" and ok , we are in a decent position at present but it can so easily change . TP is going to have a tougher season this year than last year....we'll probably be ok because there are worse teams than us but this season will show us what TP is capable of with his man management and his desire to win games .

Tuncay played 7 minutes, you cant judge him and say he was shit, he was never given the opportunity to do much. Kitson replacing Beattie wtf was that all about Kitson did fuck all. Whitehead and Delap are fucking useless!

SCFC Till I die...
Stick your head in the sand why not ! We are 5 points or so from the relegation zone, not flying high in the top 10 with enough points to be comfortable!
Pulis I'm afraid is beginning to P..iss many more supporters of now and I'm sorry to say that includes me. With the players we have, any half decent manager would have us on the same points and his decisions are starting to cost us points and more importantly it's not enjoyable to watch.

Right, I am not a PHW but I am really getting pissed off with Pulis. I know we are still 9th but we won’t be for long if this keeps up and we could have been so much higher (unfulfilled promise) The below is what I think of TP. Much of it has been said before but I jus have to vent it tonight.
He is a hypocrite – skilful players are never fit but big black lumps can come right back into the team after being out for month
Hates skilful players and won’t play them – Lawrence, Tuncay & Kitson
Man management is shit – destroying both Tuncs & Kit’s confidence. This not only affects the team now but has a knock on when we have established ourselves and want to attract more quality. No way will they want to come to Stoke after Tunc’s treatment.
Pulis is way to defensive – he never ever goes for the jugular against weaker poor teams or away from home. Nine times out of ten his sit back tactics don’t work. As Sky mention, if we could have held our lead in games we were winning this season then we would have 12 more points and be top.
Our football really is quite poor to watch a lot of the time, especially away from home or against one of the big four.
He plays players out of position……Huth, Collins, Delap, Higgy to name a few.
He has clear favourites who in their nature are too defensive……Creser who has now gone, Delap, Whitehead & Collins.
Now I respect Pulis for his skills too (see below) but it is just a shame he is not the complete article. He holds so much promise (for himself and the team) but is let down badly by the above character flaws. I am not saying he should go but someone (Cotes) needs to have a word and quick to stop Pulis from being too inflexible and stubborn.
- Has spotted some great bargains for us - Is very loyal to his favoured few (man manages them well) - Stabilised out club - His tactics work well to keep us up and make us hard to beat

even though we had just lost our centre half, pulis could have been alot smarter to do what he did. say what you want but you cant blame tuncay for his reaction. pulis made him look an idiot infront of 25000 people and x amount of millions around the world. and like another poster said on another thread, it doesnt bode well for any potential big name signings that may have been watching.

scfc brown and other managers can only dream of being where we are. Brown was 6th this time last year and he fucked up with his man management, just like pulis today. So all you pulis lovers that keep saying we're 9th, think on.

Pulis may have embarrased Tuncay today but most of all, he embarrassed himself. Ironically, the kind of decision Phil Brown would be proud of.

The only other time i have seen players treated like this by Pulis is last season with Camara, but he was only on loan as back up and not a permanent signing, the other time was when the two icelandic players were brought in over his head and he never played them, I have never known a new signing to have been given so little time in his first 3 months of signing for a club, which once again makes me think that he wasn't a Pulis signing, it only makes sense when thinking a long those lines .

Can I not be a Stoke fan if i don't agree with what the manager is doing on the pitch. He has been at Stoke for 5-6 years I have been supporting them for 37 years am I not entitled to show my disapproval of the man?

He could have taken Delap off or Whelan or even Collins
the Tuncay sub on, sub off, was disasterous (IMHO)

i hate having a pop at TP cos hes put my team back on the map and for that i will always love the man. BUT (here it comes).. today was like any other game really, i bet there wasnt anyone of us who agreed with anything he did tactically or the tuncay debacle.i really think he has to mix up the way we play and approach games but in all honestey i dont think he would even if he could

Taking Tincay off was the right thing to do, we had just had a defender sent off and needed to get another one on, Tuncay is not a defensive player by any stretch of the imagination and it was the right call.

Pulis didn't get Faye sent off. He didn't tell Sorrenson to push that shot back towards the penalty spot when Hull scored the winner. And he didn't tell Ryan to push a Hull player in the chest after he'd already been booked.
Having said that, Pulis is at fault for the usual playing-with-our-heads-up-our-arses approach after we go a goal up.

I respect Pulis for where he has got us and I am in full support of both the Team and the Management, BUT todays decision in regards to Tuncay was poor and his overall team selection in the past 3 games has been poor, I can understand Whitehead in the middle only for the fact we need some hard tackling player in the middle of the park and Whitehead brings this, Whelan and Etherington are fine. However Delap on the right, a Right Mid who cannot run, I just don't get it. When we are going forward we can only create play down the left as on the right we have someone who isn't fast and struggles to beat his man, we never had this with Lawrence, who isn't at his best because he isn't playing, Delaps throw ins have not been overly effective the year I just don't see why he doesn't put Lawrence on the right. I wouldn't even mind the same midfield 4 as last year as it worked especially against Hull. And onto Tuncay, I wouldn't blame him if he puts his request in tonight because to bring our only last remaining bit of fresh quality and flair off after he had just been bought on (why he is on the subs bench and not on with Fuller I have no idea) showed him up in front of millions. Poor Man Management and poor decisions from Pulis today and he needs to recognise this, he now has 2 weeks to sort it out, get them training, make a couple of changes and try something else, and for god sake PLEASE win Tuncay around!
