Whilst I'm continually puzzled by team and formation choices, coupled with badly timed pronouncements on transfer policy, all of which I think has eroded the teams confidence, I AM prepared to support Tony Pulis until the end of the season because I think the last 6 years DO earn him that right.
ON ONE CONDITION
I think the strength of the team (in the Premier League) to date has been our commitment to a plan. 4-4-2 with two wingers.
SO
With Pennant off and Etherington injured, I want to see SHEA and KIGHTLY play all of the last 9 games on the wings.
IF THEY ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO BUY THEY ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY.
Then, upfront, he can play any two from Crouch, Walters, Jones and Jerome. Maybe play Crouch and Walters at home and Jones and Jerome away. I don't really care IF HE PLAYS WINGERS ON THE WING.
Arrrgh!! But Shea is unproven and Kightly is out of form you say. YES I KNOW. But if Tony actually put his money where his mouth is and stuck resolutely to the plan, I think Kightly's form would recover due to the vote of confidence, and Shea - well I've liked what I seen so far.
At least the whole team would know where they stand and how they are supposed to play. Heck Adam might even get a game in midfield with Nzonzi.
I actually think messing with this system is what has caused the bad run, not the players' abilities.
WE NEED OUR WINGERS TO PLAY. BRING IN KIGHTLY AND SHEA.

There's more chance of Pulis burning his baseball caps and turning up in a suit than there is of Shea playing the last 9 games!

Why has the OP made two very similar threads? It's the sort of inefficiency one would expect of Tony Pulis

So much so that I've effectively duplicated the threads pointing this out.

We can dream about Pulis changing it for the better in the last games but Im not expecting much. In an ideal world we would revert back to the good year, the cup final run. Pennant is going so lets give Kightly a chance, no wonder the guy is struggling, he's in and out the team with no real consistent run benched for the likes of Shotton and Walters. He was half decent for Wolves and seemed pretty good against us last season, so there is a good player in there Im sure of it.
For the life of me I cannot understand the Charlie Adam situation. Im purely guessing that Pulis doesn't rate him for the methods he is putting in place every week. Whelan for me should be benched with Adam and N'Zonzi the starting midfield, we only have to look at Adam's display against Wigan last September too see what he could bring to the team, unfortunately the capped one just doesnt see his effectiveness.
Team for me would be:
Begovic
Cameron Huth (when returned) Shawcross Wilson
Adam N'Zonzi
Kightly Walters Etherington
Jones
Purely a pipe dream though.

A line up including: Geoffrey Cameron Cameron Jerome Marc Wilson Wilson Palacios would give us a point start, creating brain meld in both opposition and commentators, alike completely knackerating Clarkey's team talk... and technical area instructions: "ok you shadow Jerome." "Cameron?" "no, well yes but not Geoffrey Cameron." "Who's got him boss?" "Not me I'm on Wison." "Marc?" "Yes" "Marking Marc Wilson? Don't you mean picking up Wilson Palacios?" "No, I'm watching Wilson." etc Surely it'd descend rapidly into a 'you stupid boy' scenario. Might work... in a football sense too. perhaps as important as codpsychology, Who will be able to shackle Lukaku, and will Kenwynne get the chance of Round Two with Olssen?
live from The Chapter of Faults.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.. As if to illustrate a point, once uttering that dread incantation experienced difficulty concentrating, mispunctuating, missmelling and using wrong words and such... shan't do it again in a hurry... Geoffrey Cameron Cameron Jerome Marc Wilson Wilson Pal... oooh shot... seriously though is Wilson {Palasios} fit to play? Not nec a full 90, but the idea of him and N'Zonzi as a midfield pairing would be extraciting. And what about Our Michael, what's his status? never make a midfield general though.
from the marvellously irritating SpoutShite tonight... ".....it's very messy here, Danny Shitoo has managed to score a scrappy one, meanwhile at the Alliance, Arsenal for their part are being extremely sloppy." Titter, sorry.
