Good to see them under new ownership, although only time will tell what the new owner will bring to the table. It will be interesting to see how much money he invests and how quickly he does it!
Good result or them tonight as well!

Not been following this closely, but heard something about them being bought by the smurfs? Makes a change from being a Mickey Mouse club I guess.

A piece of history was created at Vale Park tonight I believe....Tom Pope became the fastest player to score 20 goals in the clubs history.
I think this means that he has scored twice the number of goals on his own than Stoke players have combined all season.
Well done Pope.
The Vatican will be proud of you.

Pope for England! ;D It's quite bizarre that a player who only scored 3/4 goals all last season already has 20 this time around!

Good night overall for the Vagrants. Gillingham lose at home so there 7 point lead is reduced to 4. And 3rd place Cheltenham lost. Not that I'm keeping tabs like :-)

Pope is a great lad, I think I read the upturn in his form is due to him settling down and having a family; if so good for him. Not many players come from the Vale direct to Stoke, the last one might have even been Chamberlain...? as I think Brammer was at Crewe in between. It certainly would be an interesting signing

How is it all these asset laden businessmen need subsidies from S-o-T council? If S-o-T council gave us all the money they've given to the Vale we could all go and live in Marbella!

Well, good on 'em as far as I'm concerned. This rivalry between us and them is a recent phenon phremon thing for those of us who go back more than a couple of decades. Careful, mate, you could accidentally start another 'brown wings' thread.

The new owners are making all the right noises but only time will tell if they are genuine or not!
In all fairness the team won't need an awful lot of investment this season, they should achieve promotion quite comfortably with a couple of new faces. However, it's difficult to see how the new board can make Vale into a viable business when they are only getting gates of 4,000 (I think radio Stoke reported not long ago that they need 5,000 for home games at least)

Whisper it but so far, Wildes and Smurthwaite (doesn't that sound like a really really bad clubland act from the 1970s?) look like the real deal to me. Adams has done an amazing job keeping it together on the pitch through all the uncertainty. I would love to see Vale go up as Champs and I think that's a genuinely good bet. The city needs a healthy Vale.
