They don't see it how we see it Frustrating game. Guilty of overplaying when we went 1-0 up. We could have been out of sight by half time. As for Stoke. Urrrghhh! If i had to watch that every week i'd have to remove my own eyes with a blunt spoon. No wonder they all kicked off with each other in the away end needing about 60 stewards to sort them - they'd have fallen asleep otherwise. You;ve gotta see Al Habsis save at the end too. Potential save of the decade never mind season

We created far better chances than they did and without that save they would have lost.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez considered that the draw was a point gained rather than two lost even though his side surrendered the lead on two occasions.
“It was such an open game that it could have gone either way,” commented Martinez afterwards. “So I was felt that it was a point gained for us.
“All credit to Stoke; they pushed us to the maximum after we had given them problems with the way that we started the game.”

This was as good as we have looked in awhile, actually played some good stuff. They were lucky enough did not nip it at the end.

Watching Stoke is like being subjected to torture. Extremely frustrating match. Totally dominated the first half but couldn't get that second goal. Stoke fans were so bored that after 30 minutes of abuse at Pulis, they attacked 2 isolated stewards and threw them down the stairs. At least they didn't hound out two 70+ fans on walking sticks like they did last season.
Their penalty was an absolute joke and then second half we managed to get back in front and again should have got 2 goals in front and Stoke got an equaliser from a lucky bounce in the box and almost snatched the 3 points in the end, with an end to end finish, we overplayed it and kept wasting chances, Stoke hoofed it forward and just shot on sight, with a number of long rangers going close.
Referee was appalling, had no control on the game, so many hacks from behind, with studs going into the backs of our players and ankles and not pulled up, Beausejour and Di Santo picked up injuries due to these thuggish tackles. 3 strong penalty shouts denied too, Kone put in a headlock, seriously, Di Santo pushed in the back with two hands, causing him to fall into a Stoke player and he gave them a free kick. Boyce right at the end, wrestled to the ground, absolutely stone waller that was.
I do think Stoke will struggle this season, can certainly see relegation, play the same way and teams have found a way of denying them wins, 4 wins in about 25 games going back early December 2011, 3 tough games to come. Thought they were poor today and we'll be kicking ourselves over not finishing them off inside the first 60 minutes and giving them a way back into at the end which they scrapped for.

Did he actually watch any of the game? Their penalty is far more contentious than ours, they didn't have any decent chances to waste compared to ours, there wasn't a single bad tackle in the game and how was the Crouch goal a lucky bounce when only Stoke players touched it and it was clearly a practiced routine?

It is going to be a very long season for Wigan.
Their useless idiot of a manager cancelled fitness work in pre-season to let the players have a kick about every day ;D ;D ;D

However you want to dress it up, IF WILKO hadn't have got injured, we would have been thumped.
The game was getting away from us and we looked like we would concede whenever they came forward.
We started with a 3-5-2 system that wasn't working primarily because our players didn't know what they were doing or where they should be and we swapped to 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 4-4-1-1 and back again at least 6 times before Wilko went off.
It was laughable watching Pulis on the touchline going bonkers and calling players over at every conceivable second.
Wilko got injured, we brought on Adam and all of a sudden we looked a better side. He barely gave the ball away during his time on the pitch and his passing had an urgency about it that was missing when he played against us for Liverpool.
Pulis got lucky with the injury and whilst we improved, we weren't really a genuine threat ourselves until the last 10 minutes when Jerome's pace seemed to get them worried.
Still much to worry about. Wilson cost us a goal again, Whitehead was awful as was Cameron when deployed in midfield, Kightly was no threat at all out wide and our two forwards were shocking, again, yet both have emerged with a goal to their name.
The international break has come at the right time but sadly some key players will disappear off when really we need them working together at the club.
The atmosphere in the away end was as hostile as I can recall it towards TP and the management staff in general.
EDIT - Al Habsi's save towards the end, from a deflected Adam free kick, was absolutely unbelievable and the best save I have seen from any keeper since a very similar one Mark Crossley pulled off for us at Coventry all those years ago. How he got back to that I will never know!
