Is it really that better than ours They have 20 points more and could finish third From what I see in Ba and Cisse they have two quality strikers But the same old argument is even quality strikers need service The rest of the team doesn't stand out that much.

Tiote alone is worth every single central midfielder on our books. As is Cabaye. Add Ba and Cisse to possibly the best young goalie around.
Please tell me you're joking.

Their midfield is a lot better than ours as well.
It just shows what can be achieved if you have a good scouting system and a good manager.

Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa are streets ahead of anything we have in midfield unfortunately. Their defence doesn't look that impressive on paper, but they've kept 12 clean sheets in the league this season, so I guess that speaks for itself.
Newcastle have been tremendous this season, I really hope their success will encourage Pulis to dip into the foreign markets.

Yohan cabaye was the best midfielder in France last year, quality footballer!! Tiote would get in any team in the premiership! Ben arfa and Gutierrez top notch wingers! Argentinas centre back( colocini),Italy left back (santon)!! You having a laugh mate!! All these are top notch players comfortable on the ball, while we plod on with wanky Walters!! FFS Well we all sit and watch mind numbing football, set to the grand pulis 3 year plan!! Pardew has in less than 12 months built a top quality side!!

We've got to dabble in the foreign market this summer we are really missing out in my opinion.

Put it this way
I think only Shawcross, Huth Pennant and Begovic would stand a chance of getting in their team
maybe Palacios, Crouch on the bench
Think their midfield is quality

They have bucketloads more creativity and pace in their midfield and as the game at the Brit earlier this season showed, they've plenty of industry to augment the ability.

Last season I think we had a better team but Santon, Ba, Cisse, Cabaye and Ben arfa (injured last season) have changed that.

Why can't we just be magnanimous and say that Newcastle have a better team than us and deserve to be where they are because they are playing good football, and have signed some great players for not alot of money considering.
Cabaye for the same money as Whitehead Tiote for less than half of Palacios Cisse for less than Crouch and 6 years younger.
It's not a dig at our own club, it's just a fact that they have managed to do better business.

Better players in every department than those we have. Players picked in their correct positions and allowed to play to their strengths.

It doesn't make him a bad manager, but I do think he is very myopic with his targets. I suppose when you have nailed down that you are only prepared to play one way, your targets are slimmer pickings than others who have more than a Plan 'A'. H

Danny Simpson has had a cracking season for them as well and (equips tin hat) is 3 times the player Wilko is.
Shawcross would probably be the only player to get in their first team this season, which in itself, it pretty depressing.

Difference is between the 2 teams is that they attact teams home and away.we only attack the big teams when they come to stoke and when teams like swansea come and norwich we win by frustrating them.pulis has no plan b.would'nt of minded losing today if we haad have had a real go at them.

The team they had in the championship was probably as good as, if not better than ours and they've had decades of almost continually Premiership football. So I think they're the better club all round really. We're still playing catch up with many clubs in the Premiership, hence our massive investment to try and narrow the gap.

Last season we finished on the same points as Newcastle and in fact won 2 more games.
In the summer we spent more money than them and even with the addition of 10million Cisse, their net spend is still lower than ours.
What's been the difference?

As most Stoke fans have already pointed out, your deluded.
A lot of our quality players have been mentioned in this thread already but you've all missed out the best. Fabricio Collocini. There's a reason he's in the Premier League team of the year and is in a different class to Ryan Shawcross. Can't believe none of your lot have mentioned Colo yet.
