So I will.
His performance tonight was lacklustre.. he had plenty of service and a shed load of time on the ball.
He doesn't look hungry and he was so slow on the ball he may as well have been going in re-wind. I just fail to see that our investment in him has come good. For a big man he's certainly faaaar too easy to shove off the ball/beat in an aerial challenge/dispossess/get away from and I would gladly have started Fuller or Jerome over him tonight.
I sometimes wonder what type of rose-tint our Tone has on those glasses of his.
Discuss.

But then I'd start moyes over pulls and anyfucker over Walters I tend to sit on the fence between being a rimmer and PHW. So long as the results are coming in then fine.. but I WOULD love to see a different approach. Walters.. well.. he's turned into a fantastic signing.. there's no doubting that.. but the lad is SHATTERED! Just because TP bums him doesn't mean he shouldn't drop down for a few games to the bench and get some rest.. I'd respect him much more for that!

Jones was much better than crouch tonight the difference being that Crouch barely got on the ball.. Jones got on the ball plenty (agreed) but conspired to look spent. I really think he needs to liven up or he risks the fans getting on his back again.. Just a really disappointing effort tonight from Kenwyne.

i am goin to have to disagree with you there - i thought his EFFORT was fantastic, he had some good touches and held up the ball well, as well as chased more than usual - IMO he is a player that is low on confidence and game time and that is reflected in his performances

For the time he had on the ball at Old Trafford, which not many players get, he was shit!

To call Jones performance tonight "lacklustre" is far too kind . He's absolutely fucking clueless....although the same could be said for plenty more of our lot tonight. Shocking performance all round.

His touch is appalling and that was highlighted in midfield where he played.

Why play him so deep, if your going to start with two big 'strikers' play them together and try and expose their defense. Another baffling Pulis tactical decision.

I dont know what tint half of you have on ya glasses, your all like pulis stubborn as fuck, ya make ya mind up after 1 shit performance and stick to it. There was 10 pieces of turd on the pitch last night and 1 diamond. Jones was the only player to look interested last night, no sorry thats not fair shawcross didna have a bad game but the rest were shit yet people on here continue to slate the players that put a shift in, the mind boggles!!!. We were never goin to go old trafford and run riot how many teams in the prem do that? We all know how we set up away live with it, yet 4 years on i read the same old trap, yawn.

I'd credit 4 players last night. Jones is not one of them. He gets on the ball and suddenly it's like he's wading through mud.. But credit where credit is due.. he came alive from the 80th minute until the 90th which is FAR too late on IMO. I'm not slating Jones based purely on last night either. He has fell far short of expectations. Yes he appears to have confidence issues.. but if I was on that much money a week I'd be professional enough to try and shrug it off. He has made little to no impact on all recent games when featured. the 'diamonds' on the pitch last night for me were Huth & Shawcross (calm, composed, put in several great challenges and did nothing rash... and it's not like we leaked at the back much is it.. remember they won from PENALTIES) then Pennant ran his bollocks off for most of the game and got some good crosses in. Wilko looked fine last night also.. not a concern at RB for me. Jerome, in spite of no end product, battled well to win the ball up the pitch and tried to move play on.. and has pace to boot.. KJ does not. I've grown tired of Jones.. there's nothing I would love more than to see him return to the top of his form though!

Palacios was miles better than Jones
Jones was awful, his "effort" involved him getting the ball and giving it away whether through being tackled WAAAAAY too easily, forgetting how to pass to his own players or just having no vision or anticipation of the game at all (e.g Pennant flicking it to him on the right and Kenwynee just stood there and let it go out for a throw instead of running onto it), however he in terms of giving the ball away he still has some way to go to equal how bad Whitehead was!

That flick was entirely Pennant's fault. He didn't even look where he was playing it when a casual glance was all it would have needed to pick Jones out five yards away. Kenwyne couldn't have got there if he wanted to. Jones did ok I thought, given he was effectively playing in midfield. His runs had more purpose than anything else we tried attacking wise, even if the execution was often poor. He and Crouch were hung out to dry.

Jones needs passes that he can run on to or crosses that are in front of him to make the most of his talents. On the last few occasions that he has played, he mainly receives the ball with his back to goal and isn't really that creative in these situations. Crouch / Jerome / Fuller / Jones / Walters play different styles of game and players passing to them need to work out how to get the best from them

Jones did well last night while played out of position actually made some effort..him and Palacios were the only 2 who made a effort..maybe add Jerome to that aswell he looked hungry and had a effort on goal within 5 mins of been on

Jones can run onto a ball and head it.He's brilliant at it.Ask him to run with the ball ahead of him or play short passes. No chance.

He and Crouch were hung out to dry. This is the key point. In the system Pulis choses to play Crouch & Jones are the wrong players to play upfront. Neither are good with their back to goal, neither can run the channels, neither is good making things happen with the ball at their feet. Both want service in the box BUT they play too deep and the midfield never get close enough to make things happen. I just don't get why Pulis keeps on with this rubbish??????

Jones is lazy, looks disinterested and a waste of money in my view. I hoped Wolves or QPR would come in for him, but his wages (40k a week apparently) and the fact we want our 8m quid back is going to put teams off. He looks good every 5 games, but sorry that's unacceptabe. Radio Stoke said similar last night.
Fingers crossed, we get rid end of season, but will be lucky to get half our money back.
