What a shambles...
On entering our 5th season playing at the top table we are still making amateurish mistakes befitting of a club from the lower leagues. Why do we always seem to do it?
Whoever decided to announce it late on that Friday night really did jump the gun. Bloody hell Stoke.

we have not found a home grown left back for years, so cant be too many of them knocking about TP said himself that proper (whatever that means?) left backs are like gold dust. So it may be a while before we find another one!!!

So where's it say he's failed a work permit? I can't find it anywhere The Headline !! It is truly bizarre Money must have been spent watching him after we played them, at the Euro's and of course all the time and effort that could have been spent elsewhere A remarkable bollock dropped and a clear determination that the backroom commerical people are simply not good enough. Heads really should roll.

When a work permit application gets rejected the appeal is for you to show that despite his background, nationality, international experience etc he is a quality player and one which will be a massive asset to your club and that despite him not meeting the initial criteria he isnt just a pile of rubbish who's going sit on the bench or in the stands.
So the initial rejection doesn't mean there's no chance just means stoke will have to big him up in the appeal if they still want him.

So as it stands then we've sold Collins, loaned out Higgy, said no to the Polish lad, failed to sign Popov and Wilson is injured. Anybody on here can play left back? Doesn't matter if you're a right footed CM the peg will always be hammered into the hole.

Unless and im clutching at straws someone else has come up that TP wants instead? Something's put him off Popov. It's all as clear as mud. It certainly doesn't look like we'e even bothered going to an appeal hearing after the automatic initial rejection, unless it's been rushed through in 2-3 working days, which is doubtful as Cameron's took about 3 weeks. In fact, you wonder whether we even bothered submitting the initial application? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19261003Poor Pop is perplexed.

Goran Popov's loan move to Stoke City from Dynamo Kiev has collapsed after the Macedonian failed to receive international clearance. Popov agreed a season-long loan with the Potters, but he revealed there have been problems obtaining a work permit. He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I came here, everything was ready and then they say the problem is visa - I can't work here without it.
“ I wanted to play football in England because I like English football and you play against so many big teams ” Goran Popov Macedonia full-back "I have to go, I have no choice. The problem is with the rules in England." He continued: "I see that Stoke City is good for me, so that's why I wanted to stay, but I can't change anything.

Popov, just a helpless pawn in a sick twisted game of dicking about and not wanting to bring in an actual left back.

I don't believe this is over yet or that the permit is the problem. It seems far too quick for the permit road to be closed. I smell a rat. Im guessing we've either tried to sign the wrong guy or that TP has took an instant dislike to him in training...or something daft like that. That's what I thought. I'd love to call Pulis and Scholes thick over this, I really would but it's all ended too soon for that. If we wanted him, You'd think they'd go to appeal which would be a longer process. My first thought was TP saw him in training and didn't like what he saw, "oh no Goran, we can't get You a work permit, bye!". He still looks like a bit of a chump a long with the web dude and photographer mind over Friday's comments and stunt. Strange saga.

Dave Vs suggested on the other thread a couple of days ago to a comment that the poster had put the the correct name on the wrong shirt with ref to Popov, reading between the lines is he lined up to go else where may be abroad or UK

Ironically, I suspect that this is the only real exclusive signing the official site has ever managed to pull off (and with a song and dance too), it then goes and all falls apart... typical Stoke.

Yeah it would be a lot easier to convince a panel that we really rate him if we weren't bringing him in for 12 months to see if he cuts it first

It's a strange one
